Protein Waffles
These Belgian-style protein waffles are crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with protein to keep you full and energized. While they may not be quite as indulgent as a classic Belgian waffle, they deliver surprisingly great flavor and texture for a healthier, high-protein alternative. Perfect for a satisfying breakfast or post-workout meal.
Ingredients
- 100 g Wheat flour
- 100 g Pea/soy protein
- 30 g Sugar
- 4 g Salt
- 10 g Baking powder
- 2 piece Eggs
- 45 g Neutral oil or melted butter
- 260 ml Milk (normal or vegan)
- 80 ml Butter Milk
Steps
- Mix all the dry ingredients together
- Mix all wet together. If you dont have butter milk I will often do 340ml milk and 15 ml plain white vinegar.
- Mix the dry and wet together. You want the consistency to be like a thick oatmeal. Do not aggressively beat, just mix till incorporated, it does not need to be smooth.
- Wait 10 min for the batter to hydrate
- Start making your waffles according to your machine and desired done-ness
